Russian security agencies said several gunmen wearing camouflage uniforms opened fire at a popular concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow on Friday night. The concert hall is one of the largest and most popular music venues in the Moscow region. As gunfire rang out inside the building where the concert hall is located, popcorn theater machine a fire broke out in the upper floors of the building. "Ukraine has absolutely nothing to do with this attack," Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office, said in a video statement.
The attack appears to be one of Russia's deadliest in decades. The deadliest attack was the Beslan school attack in 2004, when Chechen militants took more than 1,000 people hostage at the school in southern Russia and fought with Russian troops, killing more than 330 people.
The Security Council also issued a media popcorn theater machine statement that day, condemning in the strongest terms this "heinous and cowardly" terrorist attack.
In their statement, the members of the Security Council expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and the Russian people, and wished the injured a speedy and full recovery.

They reiterated that all countries must use all means to combat threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligations under international law.
